Hi Friends!!
I'm Gracen, owner and curator of all collections at The Junky Monkey. I'm a small town gal out of Moncks Corner, SC who has a passion for "old things" and "new things". My family and I currently reside just outside of town where we're allowed to have chickens and enjoy the good outdoors. My husband of nine years, Taylor, and I have the privilege of being parents to our boys, Tucker and McCoy. When I'm not out scouring antiques, you'll find me at the baseball field cheering on my oldest or relaxing at the lake with family.
How The Junky Monkey Began
The Junky Monkey started as a daydream almost two years ago. I had just hit the one-year mark of becoming a stay-at-home mom, and to be honest, I was drowning. I needed to dig myself out of a difficult season, so I started thrifting. I would wake up early on weekends, hit yard sales and every Goodwill in my area, and come home with a trunk full of treasures.
My friends quickly noticed my eye for finding gems. They started asking me to hunt for specific pieces for their homes. After a couple of thrift trips with them, I thought, "What if I did this as a side hustle?"
Well, that daydream exploded into a full small business that I am so proud to call mine. I source the corners of old homes and estates to bring you the ultimate conversation piece for your space. It's an honor to have what I've found and thought was historically cool purchased and brought into your home.
Expanding Into Fashion
I recently had another wild idea—clothing. I absolutely love a good stylish outfit, and I thought, "What if I gave people both?" So here I am, almost two years into my daydream, creating a community and sharing two things I enjoy most with customers who have become family.
